Skills relating to golf include expert witness roles, valuations (both capital and rental), town & country planning support, rent reviews, lease renewals, business rates appeals, strategic analysis and trends insights, performance turnaround support, buying and selling, leasing and management contracts.
Background: during the 1990s worked for one of the leading niche leisure sector property advisors, William Hillary Leisure & Hotels, on their golf projects. In the latter part of the 1990s, worked for Strutt & Parker as their head of golf course brokerage. In the early part of the new Millennium, worked as a director for a golf property company, and in 2004 set up Smith Leisure. Mark is generally recognised as one of the leading professional advisors in the sector, and he is a board member of Golf Business International.
About Mark: based in the west of England and married with two grown up daughters. Still enjoys the odd game of golf but not his increasingly unreliable golf swing.
