A portfolio of 40 regional UK coach hotels ranging from coastal to rural properties including ones in the Lake District, St Mawes in Cornwall and a significant number in Scotland and Wales operated by Specialist Leisure Group (SLG), the parent company of Shearings Hotels, went into administration (in May 2020) during the early stages of the pandemic and all hotels were closed.

A subsequent refinancing and the appointment of Bespoke Hotels to manage the portfolio led to a re opening of the hotels on phased basis.

The new ownership structure appointed asset managers Wallgate Group led by Rob Gray with  Arc involved as part of the team.

We helped carry out assessment of the hotels, regular monthly management reviews and capex monitoring which took place over the next two years under a suggested rebranded umbrella collection name of Coast and Country Hotels.

Subsequently various elements of the portfolio were sold off to individual buyers and smaller groups with Wallgate working closely with Christie & Co in the disposal process.
